February Walk: The National Woolen Mill

A small group of members had a really interesting visit to The National Woolen Mill. They had a tour round the mill and were fascinated to see all the machinery working. Health and safety was not very evident in those early days, and there was no such thing as ear guards, with all that deafening noise from the machinery its not surprising that most workers learnt to lip read very effectively.

Everyone had a lovely meal in the cafe and gift shop and afterwards had a delightful walk around the grounds.
