Llanilar WI 90th Anniversary dinner

On the evening of 7 October 2015, exactly 90 years to the the day since the first meeting of Llanilar WI, members gathered at Y Farmers, Llanfihangel y Creuddyn, to enjoy a special 90th anniversary dinner.

Special guests at the event were Jo Davis and Betty Griffiths, and everyone was very pleased that a couple of immediate past members, Jen Horgan and Val O'Shea, were also able to join us.  After an excellent meal, our special guests each gave a short speech, after which there was a brief light-hearted quiz organised by President Judy Lile.   Members then gathered for the cutting of a beautiful anniversary cake (supplied by one of our members Betty Wakelin) slices of which members enjoyed with a cup of coffee, before we all headed for home at the end of a lovely evening of celebration.
